One Upstate man is facing charges after a nearly three-hour long standoff in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Greenville Police Department reports 35-year-old Louis Melvin Foster fired a weapon as his mother was arriving home just after 1:00 AM.
He then barricaded himself inside the home he and his mother share.
SWAT and crisis negotiators also came to the scene on Marsailles Court.
SWAT officers entered the residence just before 4 AM.
Foster, who is a paraplegic and uses a wheelchair, was taken into custody without injuries to anyone at the scene.
Foster was then taken to a local medical facility for evaluation.
He is charged with discharging a weapon within the city limits. More charges are possible.
