No one's gonna reel in a big one this year. Yup, COVID-19.
The Lake Robinson Bass Fishing Tournament scheduled for April 4th has been cancelled... but there are still winners!
Businesses and residents show they still have big hearts for our community.
Rather than being refunded sponsorship and participant fees, most businesses and residents donated their funds to go to Greer Relief, Greer Community Ministries and the Greer Soup Kitchen for Coronavirus relief.
A total of $9,000 was collected to be split among the three organizations.

Good afternoon,
The Greer Centennial Lions Club is working to turn an unfortunate situation into one that will immediately help the community.
The April 4th, 2020 bass fishing tournament on Lake Robinson has been canceled.
We asked both sponsors and participants if we could keep the money and immediately donate it to Greer Relief, Greer Community Ministries and the Greer Soup Kitchen for Coronavirus relief.
Most sponsors and participants agreed and we were able to donate $3,000 to each organization.
Greer Relief- They help people in the Greater Greer area with utility assistance, hunger, rent, mortgage, medication + programs related to budgeting and healthy eating.
$3,000 would allow Greer Relief to feed 46 families of 4 for 10+ days
Greer Community Ministries - They provide four key programs - Meals on Wheels, Senior Dining, Food Pantry and Clothing Closet.
A $3,000 donation for Greer Community Ministries means the organization can provide 750 meals to home bound seniors
Greer Soup Kitchen- They feed the hungry by providing one hot meal a day to whoever comes through their doors.
On average, they give out 150 meals a day.
The Greer Centennial Lions Club was chartered in 2017 and this is the largest single donation we’ve made to any organization.
Our club mainly focuses on vision needs like glaucoma screening or helping children get glasses but as our mission of “We Serve”, we help the community anyway we can particularly through hunger, environment, diabetes and pediatric cancer.
