At this time, Drost remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center as bond was denied on both charges.

Drost will appear before a Circuit Court Judge at a later time regarding bond.

Deputies responded to an address on Leila Drive near Westminster late Sunday morning in reference to a report of a burglary in progress.

Deputies made contact with Drost, who told deputies that he had keys to the home and that he had permission to be there.

Drost was eventually taken into custody on the property.

Deputies spoke to the homeowner, who then told deputies that she did not know Drost and that he did not have permission to be there.

An investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene along with Crime Scene Technician.

Drost was placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center, where he was booked into jail on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained.

According to the arrest warrants, Drost broke into the residence without consent, with the intent to commit a crime and has two or more prior convictions for burglary.

Drost is also accused in the Petit Larceny arrest warrant with stealing tools and electronic equipment.
