Road closures parking and—most importantly—where to see Santa! Here’s what you need to know before you go to the Poinsettia Christmas Parade on Dec. 6, 2025.
Road closures begin at noon with South Main Street, followed by Court Square in front of City Hall, M. at 1 p.m. Main Street from Augusta Street to Beattie Place, along with all connecting side streets, will close at 3 p.m. Expect delays and plan your arrival accordingly.
Crowds grow quickly as parade time approaches, so claim your viewing spot early. Parade-goers usually begin gathering along the route a couple of hours before the start.
Parking is available at nine downtown parking decks, all within walking distance of the parade route. Parking will be $5 at all city garages, with the exception of garages at Riverplace and Church Street, where standard rates will apply. ADA-accessible spaces are available in each deck. See real time parking data to choose which deck has the most spots.
The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. starting at Augusta St., proceeding north on Main St. before concluding near North St. The parade wraps up with its traditional finale: the arrival of Santa Claus!
For the best experience, dress warmly, bring chairs or blankets and allow extra time for traffic. Once the parade concludes, considering waiting a few minutes before heading to your car, as many people will be trying to exit at the same time.
