As President of the Senate, I (President Harvey S. Peeler, Jr.) fully support the Governor’s request that $45 million be appropriated to the Department of Health and Environmental Control to coordinate South Carolina’s public health response to the COVID-19 virus.
The Senate will take up legislation next week to appropriate the money.
The health and safety of our citizens is my priority and I assure you the South Carolina Senate will work to ensure resources are available to all impacted.
