Southeastern Grocers Announcement

Southeastern Grocers announced some changes and precautionary steps in light of COVID-19.Their stores, which include BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie​, will be closed on Easter Sunday to give their employees a day of rest with their families.Anthony Hucker, President and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, also announced in the press release that they are beginning to conduct daily temperature checks for both their employees and external partners.Some stores will also limit the number of shoppers in the stores at one time.This coincides with Gov. Henry McMaster's order yesterday which says stores must have no more than five customers per 1000 square feet or 20% of their posted capacity in a store, whichever is less.Southeastern Grocers has also instituted a dedicated shopping hour from 8 PM to 9 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays specifically for their employees, first responders, and health care professionals. ​They are also in the process of hiring 5,000 temporary employees.  The press release also states the SEG Gives Foundation donated $250,000 to Feeding America to help their network of food banks provide more than 2.5 million meals.More information here
