It may sound odd to focus all on blood during the celebration of National Police Week, but the organizers behind The Blood Connection, a local nonprofit, say it actually is a perfect fit.
Each day, law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for their community. And when tragedies happen, they’re the first to respond and save lives. Just as vital, though, according to local law enforcement, is the need for blood donations. Because after the officers have done their job, the fate of those they saved is often dependent upon donated blood.
Which is why the Blood Connection is calling upon the community to honor law enforcement by donating blood during their blood drive this week.
And for each donation of blood, the organization will donate an additional $10 to go toward a charity of your local police department’s choosing.
