A 12 year old boy is said to be fighting for his life after a possibly gang related shooting in an Atlanta suburb, last weekend. The Spalding County Sheriff's Office says the boy was shot multiple times at Spalding Heights in Griffien, Saturday night.
The 12 year old was taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition. A suspect 18 year old, Robert Connell has been arrested in connection to the shooting. Police say Connell goes by the alias "Duck" and is a potential gang member. Investigators claim that Connell went to the apartments to confront the boy about a fight that had happened eralier.
Arrest reports say that Connell shot the boy multiple times and then ran away on foot. Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix said in a statement "I guess in the gang world it makes you a big man that other gang members can look up to if you shoot a 12-year-old and run away. Most of us have another compound word or two that would better describe them.”
