The discovery of what is believed to have been commercial-grade explosives dating back to the original construction of a South Greenville County school prompted a bomb threat response late this morning.
Greenville County deputies say no students were on the campus when a contractor working on the expansion of Ralph Chandler Middle School in Simpsonville uncovered the undetonated explosive.
Law enforcement and units from the fire department are standing by until a decision is made on removing and safely disposing of it. The principle says school personnel who were working on the campus this morning have relocated to nearby Woodmont High School.
