A missing girl from Florida was located in the Upstate last week and the man who brought her here is facing charges. The Union County Sheriff's Office says the 12 year old was located there, last Thursday and police in Florida were notified.
Deputies say the girl had bruises on her neck and arm. She told them she was taken from Florida by a man identified as 22 year old, Jose Miguel Lagos.
The Sheriff's Office says Lagos told them he met the girl on an app and thought she was 16. He also told them he drove to Tampa to pick her up and admitted to having sex with her.
Lagos is charged with 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He also faces additional charges from Florida.
