A child is dead after a tragic accident in the Upstate Wednesday morning. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying the accident happened just after 8 AM, in the drop off line at The Covenant Church Academy .The year 3 year old girl was hit by the car she got out of, she later died from her injuries at an area hospital.

The accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
