One former and one current employee have filed lawsuits against an Upstate town and its leadership. The town of Ninety Six, its Mayor Gregg Brown and his wife are all needs defendants in the suit. Court records say, there are two lawsuits in the case.
One has been filed by former Ninety Six Police Office Brian Sill and the other by current town clerk Amanda Sill. Brian claims he was fired by the police chief at the direction of the Mayor after a disagreement between him and Mayor Brown over safety regulations at a town festival. He is alleging the town violated due process, wrongfully discharged him and defamed him in the process.
Amanda Sill's suit claims that the town violated the state's payment of wages act and defamed her as well. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for damages to be determined by a jury. The town of Ninety Six has not issued any statements in response to the lawsuits, at this time.
