The Anderson County Sheriff's Office has announced an arrest in a shooting last year. Deputies responded to a shooting on West Market Street in Anderson on June 6th of 2021.
Deputies located Ansel T Austin in the roadway suffering from several gunshot wounds. Ansel was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Investigators identifed a person of interest in that shooting and Thursday charged Demetrius D Carson with Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
Carson is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.
