Sheriff's Office releases statement in the case of missing Upstate woman

With today marking the one year anniversary of the disappearance of Alexis Ware, the Sheriff's Office where she was last seen has released a statement.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office release commended Ware's family calling them "Champions in her absence" and talking about their fight for answers. Alexis Ware was last seen at the 7-Eleven on Highway 29 in Anderson.

The Sheriff's Office says the FBI is assisting in the investigation, but has limited resourced due to the case not yet crossing state lines. The statement also says that TJ Patterson who fathered a child with Alexis Ware, is no longer considered a person of interest in the case.

The lead detective is Anderson County's Jason Fowler he said "I remain positive and it’s my hope and belief that Alexis is alive. It’s important for me to
work every day to locate her and bring her safely home to her children."
