The Oconee Humane Society has announced that it is now waiving adoption fees as they approach capacity of their kennels.
The Humane Society and Oconee County Animal Shelter say their kennels are full and that intake appointments are booked up through the next month.
Is an attempt to encourage adoptions, all adoption fees are now being waived.
“We want people to know the urgency of this situation and that their support can save a life and bring new joy to their home,” Oconee Humane Society Operations Manager Shawn Pearson said in a press release. “Every pet deserves a chance to live a great life, and we need help to give them that chance.”
All pets adopted through the Humane Society are also sprayed and neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Additional information, including a full list of available dogs with photos, can be found on the Oconee Humane Society website here.
