An Anderson County Deputy shot and killed a suspect after a short vehicle chase in Anderson County Wednesday night.

Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride told local media that investigators had tracked down a suspect wanted for criminal domestic violence and resisting arrest.

When deputies arrive at a home where the suspect was staying, he fled in a vehicle with deputies in pursuit. The chase ended when the suspect's vehicle became stuck on Queen Anne Lane off of Highway 88 in the Slabtown community.

McBride said deputies gave the suspect several opportunties to surrender, but he refused. The Sheriff said at one point, deputies felt their lives were at risk and the suspect was shot and died at the scene.

SLED has been asked to investigate which is standard procedure in a deputy involved shooting.
