Another Upstate Deputy resigns amid Flock Cam investigation
Anderson County Sheriff's Office

Another Upstate Deputy has resigned amid a scandal over the alleged misuse of mass surveillance. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says, Deputy Caleb Dixon resigned Monday amid an internal affairs investigation into possible misuse of Flock Cameras.

The Sheriff's Office is treating the resignation as a personnel issue and as a result won't be releasing further details. Dixon is the 2nd Anderson County Deputy to resign in the last two weeks over allegations of misusing the Flock system. Now, former Deputy Eric Center resigned last week amid a similar investigation.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has had employees terminated for Flock related misconduct. Both the Greer and Mauldin Police Departments have had officers resign after being accused of misusing the system.

Currently, there's no criminal charges associated with law enforcement misusing the system in South Carolina, that's something that many expect the state legislature to address next year.
