An upstate incumbent Congressman has landed a high profile endorsement. Fourth District U.S. Congressman William Timmons has received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Timmons a Republican from Greenville is seeking his third term in the US House of Representatives.
In a statement released by Timmons campaign Trump called Timmons a terrific advocate for the people of South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District and said Timmons has been a steadfast supporter of our America First agenda, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.
Timmons faces three opponents in the June GOP primary. George Abuzeid of Boiling Springs, a US Navy veteran and commercial airline pilot; Pastor Mark Burns, co-founder and CEO of a Christian television network who also served in the SC Army National Guard; and Michael LaPierre, a retired businessman, entrepreneur, author and former Minor League Baseball player.
The eventual Republican nominee will face candiates from the Constitution Party and Democratic Party in the November general election.
