A former Greenville County Sheriff's Office employee has been arrested in connection to the dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
Sean Egan was originally hired by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office at the beginning of this year after previously serving with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Egan was placed on administrative leave during his probationary period after Sheriff Hobart Lewis was informed of an active investigation surrounding Egan.
He was later terminated for Conduct Unbecoming in March, just two months after he was initially hired.
Now, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office announced in a media release that SLED informed them of Egan's Monday arrest.
Egan is charged with two counts of disseminating obscene material to a minor and two counts of unlawfully placing a child at risk. He was booked into the Abbeville County Detention Center.
