A suspect is in custody after a criminal rampage in the Upstate that began at his workplace. The Spartanburg Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a car wash on Ezell Boulevard around 1:45, Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the incident started when an employee tried to break into the safe at the car wash. A manager then confronted the suspect 23 year old, Minorrie Jeremiah Riley, he then pulled a gun and began firing. No injuries were reported in the shooting.
Police say, Riley then went to the Texas Roadhouse next year and carjacked an employee at gunpoint. He then crashed the vehicle and was taken into custody. Riley is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and multiple weapons violations.
The police department says an officer was involved in a crash on Ezell Boulevard while responding to the incident. The driver of the other vehicle was injured and was transported to the hospital.
