The Greenville County Coroner's Office has released disturbing new details in the deaths of a retired couple in Simpsonville. Deputies responded to a relatives request conducted a welfare check Tuesday morning at Appian Circle home where the bodies of the man and woman in their 70's were found.
Though the identities of the couple have not yet been made public, the coroner determined that the husband shot his wife, then took his own life. Two dogs were found dead in the home as well as a decapitated bird. The Coroner's office said the couple had been dead for at least a week.
