An arrest has been made after a cashier was shot during a robbery at an Upstate store, Wednesday. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office responded to the Dollar General on Highway 252 near Belton.
Upon arrival, the cashier was found with gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital, there's been no update on the victim's condition. On Thursday, the Sheriff's Office announced that the suspect 51 year old, Thomas "Britt" Alewine has been taken into custody.
He's charged with Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery and a weapons violation.
