A suspect is in custody on a long list of charges after a shooting and chase with deputies in North Georgia. The Hart County Sheriff's Office says, a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Bowersville, Wednesday.
The driver later identified as 29 year old, Jonathan Nicholas McCurley then led deputies on a pursuit down Highway 17 toward Lavonia. The vehicle eventually came to a stop inside the Lavonia city limits and McCurley was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle uncovered multiple guns.
Investigators say they determined McCurley had been involved in an incident earlier that day in which he reportedly fired shots into occupied vehicles near Royston Highway. He's charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding, shooting near a public highway, weapons violations and multiple traffic violations.
