A chase in the Upstate Thursday night, has landed a suspect behind bars. Gang Investigators from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle near Howard Street in Spartanburg around 6 PM.
The suspect, 21 year old Artis Cook-Carter admitted to having marijuana, but refused to get out of the vehicle so it could be searched. Cook-Carter then took off in the vehicle and dragged an investigator, who was then trying to get him out of the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody, a few minutes later after a short pursuit.
He's charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, failure to stop, 1st degree assault and four other crimes.
