An arrest has been made following a weekend shooting that injured an Upstate teenager. The Spartanburg Police Department responded after a 15 year old girl was shot while sitting in a vehicle at the Norris Ridge Apartments, around 5 PM Saturday evening.
Investigators say, she was in the front seat of an SUV when two men began arguing. She tried to move to the backseat to avoid being shot, but suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while trying to change seats.
Witnesses claim, the two men used parked cars as barricades and exchanged gunfire, two vehicles were damaged in the shootout. Major Art Littlejohn says, the girl was not the target and was an innocent bystander.
One of the suspects has been identified as 20 year old Trayvis Woodruff of Spartanburg. He is currently being held in Spartanburg County for attempted murder and a weapons violation. The 2nd suspect has not yet been identified.
