An arrest announced in connection to an Upstate shooting earlier this week.
As we previously reported, The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after a shooting Tuesday evening at a home on East Belvedere Road in the Gantt Community.
21-year-old Jackson Avery Bates has since been arrested in connection to the shooting.
During the investigation, it was found that Bates and the victim got into an altercation, which led to the shooting. Investigators also found Bates had pointing his firearm at another victim during the incident.
Bates is currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center on charges of Assault and Battery High and Aggravated, Possession of a weapon during a violent crime and Point and presenting a firearm.
