Early Friday morning, a man was found beaten to death...the accused is in police custody.
Around 3:30am, Friday, March 8, 2024, Police in Asheville were called to the Compass Point Village apartments on Tunnel Road. On scene, they found a man dead, beaten to death.
The suspect, 55 year old Garland William Kuykendall was found nearby and taken into custody. He's charged with first degree murder and is behind bars at the Buncombe County Detention Center, no bond.
Asheville Police identified the victim as 71-year-old Robert Earl Griggs.
