Thursday, marked the start of this year's edition of the LEO Santa Toy Drive at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Greenville Attorney Rob Ianuario is this the presenting sponsor of the event. Ianuario was at the event alongside many others on both Thursday and Friday, where he said the event has appeared successful this year. He also talked about how he got involved with the event and how he enjoys being involved in this type of event. The interview with Ianuario is below:
Over half of a semitrailer, as well as several boxes, were all filled with toys collected for the event with a final wave of donations Ianuario said he still expected to see near the end of the day.
Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis was on hand for the event. He and I would talk about how the event got it's start and how it has grown over the years. The interview with Lewis is below.
Howie Thompson, Greenville Police Chief says his office always put heavy emphasis on this event. Chief Thompson feels like the event presents an opportunity for the community to see law enforcement in a different light. You can hear his full comments , below.
