Thursday (December 17) Update:
Detectives with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office have identified the vehicle that was involved in the weekend hit-and-run that occured on White Street Extension and Shockley Ferry Road in Belton.
The accident was determined not to have been an intentional act of harm as was originally believed.
No charges are yet pending, and the case has been turned over to South Carolina Highway Patrol for review.

Detectives with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office have identified a possible suspect vehicle in a deadly hit-and-run collision involving a motorcycle Sunday afternoon on White Street Extension near Shockley Ferry Rd in Anderson. The vehicle is identified as a 2006-2010 model Ford Explorer pulling a small utility. The SUV is a dark color over tan trim with rear tinted windows and a side step.
That collision resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, identifed by the Anderson County Coroner's Office as 53-year-old Timothy Cathey of Anderson. Cathey died in the AnMed Emergency Room as the result of multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt force trauma.

Kirk Fischer, an attorney with Iron Horse Motorcycle Lawyers, announced in a release that there is a cash reward offered for information about the crash.
Iron Horse Motorcycle Lawyers is offering a $2,500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who fled the scene in a fatal hit-and-run of a motorcyclist on Sunday, December 13, 2020 on White Street Extension near Shockley Ferry Road in Anderson County. The suspect vehicle is described as a late 2000’s model Ford Explorer (approx. 2006-2010) dark color over tan trim with rear tinted windows and a side step. At the time of this fatal accident the vehicle was hauling a utility trailer with miscellaneous unknown items.
