Gas prices continue to drop across the state, now for the 5th straight week.
For over a month now, gas prices have been on a continued decline across the state.
According to GasBuddy, which surveys over 3,000 gas station across the state, the average price of gas in the state has dropped another 14.6 cents this week, bringing the average price to just under $4 for the first time in months.
The average price in South Carolina now sits at $3.99, which is 51.8 cents lower than it was this time a month ago and $1.13 higher than it was this time last year.
According to the survey, the lowest prices in the state were found in Blackville, a small town in Barnwell county, in the low $3.50s, followed by Lexington in the mid to upper $3.50s.
Greenville county's gas prices weren't too far off, with the lowest prices sitting among the $3.60s, primarily in the Greer and Pendleton areas.)
