North Carolina's 11th District Congressman Chuck Edwards' decided to end his re-election campaign after being censured in a US House committee investigation. Edwards was under investigation after allegations of sexual harassment. Now,
the Republican District's Executive Committee met Monday night and selected Henderson County State Rep. Jennifer Capps Balkcom as the nominee. Balkcom is a wife, mother, and small business owner who is a native of Western North Carolina.
She faces Democrat nominee Jamie Ager in the November general election for the District 11 seat that represents Western North Carolina.
