Most everyone has a story about a deer being hit by a vehicle, but a crash involving a different type of animal happened over the weekend in North GA.
The Hart County Sheriff's Office says an SUV collided with a bear on Reed Creek Highway in Hartwell, Saturday afternoon. Officials say the bear was in the roadway when it was hit by a Chevy Equinox.
The bear was killed in the crash, however the driver was able to avoid injury. Georgia DNR officials were notified and they are reminding drivers to watch out as wildlife is more active this time of year.
