Spartanburg County investigators confirm that the body recovered from a neighborhood pond Wednesday is that of a man reported missing on January 8th.
Divers located the remains of 25 year old Tevin Denzel Thompson shortly after a lawn crew working at a house on Lake Forest Road reported what appeared to be the body of a man in the water along with a submerged car.
Troopers say it had veered off the left side of the road and hit a mailbox before plunging into the pond.
Exactly when that happened is unknown.
Coroner Rusty Clevenger says his preliminary autopsy revealed no sign of foul play, but he is awaiting further tests including a toxicology report.
