Officials with the SCDNR have announced that the body of the missing kayaker on Lake Jocassee has been recovered.
As we previously reported, two boaters were camping at the lake when they launched their kayaks Saturday. Gusty winds whipped up whitecaps in the area causing both kayaks to capsize around 6:00 PM.
A young woman was rescued from the water by other boaters and taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office and State DNR personnel continued the search and located the body yesterday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 23 year old Joshua Morales of Auburn, Georgia.
