The body of a missing man was found in a North Carolina river yesterday. Police say the body was found in the Tar River in Rocky Mount, which is about 50 miles northeast of Raleigh.
The deceased has been identified as 31 year old, Jevon Rashad Battle. His body was recovered from the river by the Rocky Mount Fire Department's water rescue crew. Battle had been reported missing, last Monday.
The Nash County Sherriff's Office says its unclear how Battle died or ended up in the river. His body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
The area of the river Battle was found in was about 10 miles from where he had reportedly last been seen.
