The Boiling Springs Fire District is working to raise the funds to move its 9/11 memorial to the site of their new station.

Part of this fundraising included a memorial run that took place over the weekend, the station’s inaugural Never Forget 343 run.

Nearly 100 people joined the run and walk held in honor of the 343 firefighters who died in the September 11 terror attack, and many more donated to the fundraising effort.

In comments about the memorial from the Fire District, they said, “The memorial itself serves as a reminder of the bravery of our first responders and the resilience of our nation. It stands as a solemn tribute to those who lost their lives and those who continue to bear the emotional and physical scars of that tragic day. Moving it to our new station’s site will ensure that it remains a focal point for reflection, education, and unity for generations to come.”
