A newly-unveiled plan is looking to transform the Bon Secours Wellness Arena into a 12-acre entertainment district.

The newly-announced plan will include major renovations and expansions to the 25-year-old arena.
The largest expansions will include a 6,500-seat outdoor amphitheater and expanding the concourse level effective space, adding roughly 22,000 total square footage of seating, restrooms, food and refreshment stalls, and more.

A focus is also being placed on improving congestion through a re-designed entrance space.

Overall, the investment is expected to bring in an additional estimated more than $70 million in annual economic impact and creating an additional 545 permanent jobs.

Bon Secours Wellness Arena General Manager Beth Paul said in a press release that “This master plan reflects the needs, expectations, and aspirations of our entire community and positions the Arena for the next 25 years and beyond.”
Plans are still being finalized, with construction expected to begin in 2026 or early 2027.
