A fire Wednesday morning destroyed a building on the property of what has become a Greenville landmark, in recent years. Firefighters responded around 4AM to the so-called "Trap Church" on Woodside Avenue.
Crews arrived and found the former parsonage building engulfed in flames. The parsonage is said to be a total loss, they do not suspect foul play, they believe homeless people who inhabit that area, likely started the fire.
No other buildings on the property were damaged. The main building used to house Bibleway Baptist Church. Then in 2022, developer Ron Rallis bought the building. He had it painted pink and had the word "Trap" written on it. Rallis used the attention from the move to call attention to his feud with William Timmons.
He claims the Congressman had an affair with his then-wife. Timmons who was also married at the time, would not deny or confirm the claims when appearing on WORD programming at that time.
