A detention officer in Western North Carolina has been suspended after being arrested there. last week. Buncombe County Detention Officer Trayvis Williams was arrested last Tuesday and is charged with assault on a woman.
The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office says Williams has been placed on administrative leave while the incident is being investigated.
The Sheriff's Office has declined to make any further statements on his arrest, citing that they can't comment on pending criminal matters.
