With primary elections coming up next week, many races around the Upstate are expected to be highly contested. The 4th District U.S. Congressional race is a crowded field with 4 candidates vying for the seat. The 4th District Republican Club held a candidate debate Monday night featuring those candidates. William Timmons is the incumbent and he talked about his record in office.

Mark Burns is a pastor and challenger for the seat. He was critical of the Biden administration and Republicans who are currently in office. George Abuzied is a former naval pilot and he laid out his reasons for running. Mike Lapierre is a Corporate Executive and he was matter of fact when asked about gun control.

The Republican primary for the 4th District U.S. Congressional seat is next Tuesday June 14th. Below is an excerpt from Monday night's debate.
