
The Greenville county Sheriff's Office issued the following media release Thursday.
Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection with a stolen car case that involved a young child being taken during the commission of the theft.
Deputies have arrested 34 year-old, Elijah Scott III after locating him on Bramlett street during a search following the theft.
Deputies received the 911 call just before 3:30pm and learned that a vehicle was stolen from 600 Palmetto Avenue that had an 8 year-old child inside after the child’s guardian ran inside to get something.
Deputies were able to locate the stolen vehicle with the child inside near 2001 W. Blue Ridge drive. At that time deputies performed an immediate search for the suspect but we’re not initially able to locate him. Just before 5:00pm deputies located the suspect and after an investigation, took him into custody.
The child was unharmed.
Scott is preliminarily being charged with Grand Larceny and Kidnapping, however additional charges are pending.
