Charges have been announced after a fight in the Upstate last week, in which a hatchet was used. As we previously reported, the Union Police Department responded to a fight in the parking lot of the Tan Hut, this past Friday.
Police say, 24 year old, Molli Nichole Butler and a 16 year old suspect both approached the victim's vehicle. They then reportedly opened her door and threw a drink on the woman. She then grabbed a hatchet from inside her vehicle and when the teen tried grabbing the victim and was cut with the hatchet.
The teen was treated for injuries suffered in the fight. Police say the victim was acting in self defense and will not face charges. The 16 year old is charged with assault. Butler is charged with assault, disorderly conduct with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
