The city is donating 8 different plots of land and four development projects are in the works currently. The Greenville Housing Fund is setting their sights on creating affordable housing for 1,000 city residents. The newly opened Unity Park is set to be at the center of the initiative, as affordable housing is being built adjacent to the park.

Two of those developments include Southernside Senior I and Southernside Senior II which will contain nearly 150 apartments combined. The Oscar Apartments is a 52 unit building being built at the intersection of Oscar and Nassau Streets. The Lighthouse Unity is a development near Holloway trail that is slated to have 190 affordable units.
