The City Of Greenville is apologizing after backlash regarding a piece the city did for Black History Month. On Tuesday night, the City's Communications Director Beth Brotherton issued a public apology following the push back from the public.
Brotherton said the city's original narrative on the integration of schools in Greenville County featured a quote from Mayor Knox White. He was a student at Greenville High at the time schools were integrated. The quote was part of a documentary in which White spoke about his classmates and teachers being reassigned in the integration process. Brotherton's post is below.
