A pair of graduates from an Upstate university are leading Monday's NASA mission. Both of the leaders at two respective NASA sites are women who graduated from Clemson. Vanessa Wyche is the Director at the Johnson Space Center in Houston and Charlie Blackwell-Thompson is the Luanch Director at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The two Clemson alums are overseeing today's mission of the unmanned spacecraft Artemis. The mission's objective is to return to the Moon, where Astronauts are set to build a base to enable missions to Mars.
NASA says, the initial launch attempt was halted Monday morning and that they will keep the public updated when info on the next launch attempt becomes available. Wyche and Blackwell-Thompson are the first women in NASA history to hold their respective positions.
