A Midlands Dive Team Deputy died during a training session, Thursday. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department announced on their Facebook page that Deputy Jillian Olson died Thursday during training at Lake Murray.

The 29 year old, Olson, began her career as a Lexington County deputy in 2021. She has been a member of the dive team since 2024. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is leading the investigation into Olson's death, with assistance from SLED.
The Lexington County Coroner's Office is conducting its own investigation to determine Olson's cause and manner of death.
