A co-conspirator and relative of a former Upstate Sheriff has started serving his sentence in federal prison. Last month, Lawson "LB" Watson was sentenced to federal prison for his role in a scheme perpetrated by his cousin Chuck Wright.
Watson was charged after it was determined that he was collecting a pay check from the county for a "no-show" job that Wright arranged for him.
Watson is currently serving time at a federal prison in West Virginia. He is sentenced to 16 months, there's no parole or early release in the federal system.
