
Work crews around the Upstate have been hard at it, as heavy rains have reeked havoc on the area. Power outages were reported in various parts of the Upstate and Western North Carolina yesterday.
An area off of Poinsett Highway in Greenville County was closed to traffic Wednesday morning, as work was being done. Power was knocked out after a tree limb fell on power lines.
Area roadways were treacherous due to rising waters, a car was pulled from a flooded stretch of roadway in Spartanburg County. A bridge in Polk County, NC was closed due to high standing water. In Greenville, a stretch of I-385 Southbound near Roper Mountain Road was shut down, as well.
In Anderson , Gossett Street was closed off after part of the road caved in due to water damage. A portion of the Pickens Railway in Anderson County also was blocked off after a tree fell on the tracks, knocking the power off.
As of 11AM Thursday morning, Utility crews report that power to all to the areas mentioned above, has been restored.
A Flash Flood watch remains in effect for much of the Upstate until 6 PM, Thursday night.
