In a case that some would call prison justice, a former teacher in North Carolina was killed by another inmate, while serving time in prison for repeatedly raping a teenage girl.
The North Carolina Department of Corrections says 60 year old, Ernest Nichols was found dead in his cell at Greene Correctional Institute in North Carolina, Sunday morning. Nichols was a former Middle School P.E. Teacher in the Charlotte area and was convicted of statutory rape in 2011.
Earlier this week, another inmate 41 year old, Wilbert Baldwin was charged with murder in connection to the incident. Baldwin was serving time for 2nd degree murder.
Nichols was expected to be released in 2027. Baldwin has since been moved to another prison awaiting prosecution for the murder of Ernest Nichols.
