A man described as a sexual predator is facing charges after he was on campus at a school in Western North Carolina, earlier this week. The Madison County Sheriff's Office says 78 year old, Manuel Cavazos was on the campus of Mars Hill Elementary School while children were in school, Tuesday.
Officials say that Cavazos is on supervised probation after serving time in Florida. Court records show, he was convicted there on multiple counts of lewd acts with a child under 12 years old. He is prohibited from being at or around schools as a result.
Cavazos relocated to Mars Hill after his release from prison in Florida and has since registered as a sex offender in Madison County.
